SUPERINTENDENT OF EDUCATION

 

 

The Superintendent is a statutory officer as provided by the Constitution and laws of the State of Alabama.  As such, he/she has certain authorities and functions which are provided by law.  The duties include serving as secretary and executive officer of the Board.  Further, the following provisions shall apply:

 

1.                  The Superintendent may delegate to his/her administrative staff, with the approval of the Board, certain administrative authority and responsibilities.

 

2.                  The Superintendent shall, with the approval of the Board, organize his/her staff and schools, create and fill positions, and assign duties and responsibilities in accord with Board policy.

 

3.                  All personnel who work in the School System shall be directly and indirectly responsible to the Superintendent.
